This Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the financial markets had a positive start driven by the data of the PPI, which although they had a higher than expected increase (0.4% vs. 0.2% expected) showed a decrease in the annual trend.
However, the optimism did not last and the main indicators closed lower:
- S&P 500 -0.33%
- Nasdaq -0.09%
- DJI -0.10%
Investors remain cautious and await the inflation data for September, that will be published this Thursday, October 13. An annual reading of 8.1% is expected, which would represent a decrease from the 8.3% registered in August.
A figure greater than 8.1% would be a bad figure for the markets since it would favor the extension of the aggressive policy of the FED.
